OUR STORY
In March 2017, Stephane Toupin woke up with a start just before midnight. With a vision of the future in mind, he sat down at the kitchen table to design his first fashion accessory: an elegant women's boot. Over time, this evolved into a range of sporty and urbane clothing. It's 00:04 when he's inspired by the name LIFE AHEAD®. This perceived revolution becomes a life mandate for him. Stéphane and his wife Sylvie Léger lay a solid foundation for LIFE AHEAD®. A company that specializes in urban sportswear, destined to go far beyond the sale of clothing. They're constantly refining their vision of LIFE AHEAD® and are now joined by a number of trusted partners.

WHY BAMBOO?
For LIFE AHEAD®, the choice of fabric had to meet all our criteria: superior quality, durability, comfort, breathability, UVA/UVB protection and eco-friendly production and processing. We found all these characteristics in bamboo rayon, making it a wise choice.
QU’EST-CE QUE LE BAMBOU?
Bamboo is a fast-growing member of the gramineae family. The main stalk - called culm or cane - is cylindrical and formed by a succession of nodes. This thatch is hollow (empty at the center) and lignified (transformed into hardwood), making it light and highly resistant.
On compte actuellement 1718 espèces de bambou différentes. La taille des tiges varie selon les espèces, de moins d’un mètre à 30 m. Bien que sa culture soit concentrée en Asie et dans les pays tropicaux, on retrouve du bambou sur tous les continents sauf en Antarctique.
Highly versatile, bamboo is used as a foodstuff, an ornamental plant, a building material, an everyday object or a fabric for clothing.

Bamboo is resistant to bacteria, mould and mildew. It therefore requires no fertilizers or pesticides. As bamboo stalks are lightweight, growers can transport them without gas-powered equipment, reducing the carbon footprint.
On average, bamboo produces 58% more oxygen than trees. And compared with pine, it absorbs up to 5 times more CO2.

Bamboo also has the capacity to store large quantities of water in its roots and stems during the rainy season. It then returns the water to the soil, helping to reduce soil desertification.
Finally, since it is a plant-based source, all bamboo objects are biodegradable at the end of their life. Bamboo is therefore an eco-responsible choice.
